"The nose starts with an immeadiate roast walnut and chestnut, hint of juice fruitcake, ripe roasted pineapple, vanilla and wood smoke. There is a lovely selection of citrus notes from orange to lemon and a little lime.The palate has a creamy texture to it, quite rich with wood varnish, some mature aromas of forest floor as well as aromas found on the nose such as walnut, roasted pineapple and vanilla. The alcohol does stick out. On the finish you can find coffee beans and hints of chocolate. "

"The sample has a vivid dark amber colour which is impressive for a rum 5 years and under. This has either been aged in fresh virgin oak casks highly charred, aged in a very fresh Sherry PX or Olorosso casks or it has added caramel to get this colour. The nose starts of with sherry like fruitcake, prune and raisin with ripe roasted apricot. There is hints of banana, caramel, mint and eucalyptus with some wood smoke and chocolate. The palate is quite rich and the sherry is very present. The olorosso sherry used makes for a complex and comforting rum. There is chocolate, coffee, fruitcake, cognac soaked raisins and some cooked stone fruits with a touch of vanilla."

"Fruity and vegetalbut also with tropical fruits. The vegetal reminds me a little of agricole or cachaca with a light agave. The nose has wonderful sweet confected fruit such as cherry, banana, pineapple as well as some green nettle and stewed greengage. The palate is dry but with a lot of sweet perceptions. Its full and pleasantly thick with lightly roasted agave, cooked asparagus banana and light floral touches. There is a lot going on. "
